Vista - Own User Folder Access Denied

I'll bet nobody has seen this before.
I recently upgraded XP to Vista. When I start Vista I get the message "User Name or Password Incorrect". I didn't set an admin password when I installed Vista, but when I try to log on as an administrator it doesn't let me. So, then I log on using my usericon (no password). When I try to access the C:\user\me\applications it says that I don't have permission. But, when I look at the security tab all of the items are checked (allow) except special permissions. Another screwy thing is that I can open folders in C:\user\administrator.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Harley
