Always been only dialup.
I voted: 'Have dial-up and choose not to have broadband'.
I have to pay the installation for Cable broadband, I am very rural. From what I've heard thus far from the cable people, this might be pricey. The company is too laid back ('Sure, we'll answer any question'.... good luck figuring out what is the right question, 'cuz they only know 'yes', 'no', and $$).
At 1//4 mile over 4 power poles, this may not be cheap (running AC power was $3300 back in '85)!
The DSL stuff is within reach, and the lines are already run to the house...... too bad the only DSL provider I found was a dialup company that I already left because of poor service. Is there a site where I can find who provides DSL in my area? I tried http://www.findanisp.com .
Satellite is not what I want, either.
