I've never heard it called that anywhere, it's called medicare here, the national health in the UK, and health care in Canada.
There's nothing socialized about it, basically the government set up an insurance company that everyone pays into, except you don't have to fill out a mass of forms and other paperwork, and hope that the insurance company can't find a way out of paying your claim.
You are covered for every available treatment, without the risk of it being refused.
Private health insurance is still available if you want it. |
