/al | Not the freak heatwave, the fact that the gov't workers who were supposed to be "caring" for the elders were ALL on vacation (and probably "out to lunch" the rest of the time). Everyone knows that nature can be treacherous and seemingly random - bureaucracies just can't deal with it.
. Socialized health care falsely leads the people to believe they can transfer their RESPONSIBILITY to gov't smurfs - the fact is that they can't. Gov't promises and then almost never DOES. And only idiots believe that it can or will. Sorry, aldtech, but my comments are right on the money! It may seem to work in small (less than the metro pop. of one of our larger cities), fairly homogenous countries, for a while, but the frog gets cooked eventually. .bh.
PS: enjoy your socialism while you can - it follows the "how to cook a frog" scheme relative to freedom (which is always the "frog" in the socialist pot)...
