Disabling VDC enables LC, thus improving launch performance. However, LC can be rough on the transmission, and Nissan is reportly giving some GT-R owners a nightmare for repeatedly disabling VDC. A transmission replacement costs owners about $20,000.

There is a rumor LC will be dropped for the 2010 GT-R, but AFAIK, Nissan has not issued an official statement indicating a final decision on the issue.
