If you plug directly into the modem with your computer and get internet, then there has to be something up with the router. I'm still guessing router configuration error.

As for why it suddenly stopped? Not sure, power outage maybe? Router getting old?

Hmm...you're probably correct with my D-Link router, it is over a year or so old. But the other two? the Netgear router was only brought 1 month ago, and work's fine around my friends house, and the Safecom Router has never been used. I got configuration information from my ISP, and set it up using all their config's...But alas, Same problem.

Change in ISP config sounds most likely. I assume your phones work fine (no noise)

This would seem to be the problem...But Demon are adament that they have changed nothing, and my connection is healthy.

I'm in the same boat. Last Sunday, going fine, suddenly, no internet. I connect with just the DSL modem/router and it works fine. Back to router, doesnt' connect. I found if I did an ipconfig /release and then an ipconfig /renew, it would work but I had to do that every time I lost th4e connection. I called a tech friend and he said our ISP had changed somethings at their end.

Oh, well.

Aye, ive had two tech friends say the same thing, im little savvy my self...and to be honest, it seems like the only cause...There's no reason i would have to manualy configure advanced setting on brand new routers other than if my ISP had screwed around with something. hmm. makes no sence that it just doesnt find an DSL line...there's no acknowledgement of any interaction with anything, other than its self.

Ill have to spend some time on the phone with my ISP and find out what's going on, then get in touch with netgear, and see what they can do with the settings that demon suggest. I have a feeling ill be going back and forth with this one for a while. Ill keep you posted.

thanks again for the words of advice people, Any more would be a great help.
