I think Nova Back is now the best total protection package. It now has both a file-by-file backup, and an imaging module. I was using Acronis (available free for those who have Sygate or Maxtor drives as part of their downloadable drive management software) along with Nova's file-by-file before. Now I only need the one tool.
. F by F is much more secure as any corruption will affect only single files where corruption of an image file can cause the loss of the entire image file or at least the part after the corrupted spot. For real security, use the belt and suspenders approach...
. IOW, I don't consider disk imaging alone an adequate backup solution.
