Yeah, I can vouch for what Richeem is saying. The Eee is super nice to have, it does come in handy. But man is it a PITA to type anything on. The keys are just so small.
If your just gonna do like light note taking, and browsing here and there, then I would say you'll be fine.
But if you think you'll be typing on it a lot, then I would go for a "normal" sized notebook.

But if you are still interested in netbooks, I would recommend the Eee. Ours has been going strong for over a year now. We are running the 4Gb SS drive model, with Xandros, and really it's pretty slick. I would recommend 2Gb's of RAM, no matter what you get though.
