I beg to differ. The AMD chips, while not the fastest out there (though somewhat close), is based on a very cheap platform. The boards come real cheap and you get to stick to nice cheap DDR2 ram. You also have the option to upgrade to AM3-based CPUs in the future, you can't do that with a Q9550 because they likely will not make anymore LG775 CPUs.
