I highlighted F drive (the largest portion) to indicate that it is where I wanted the next partition to be. I did it over and over again - making sure, and with a friend double-checking me.

So.... I got my externals back this afternoon, and I asked if he had any trouble. He said he ended up using a different software to partition them - as PM wasn't co-operating. Partition Logic was the one that worked best for him.

Go figure....
