If you are truly concerned about Firefox start times, there is an older preload utility available as an open source project. AFAIK, it should work with current Firefox builds. Be sure to read the documentation, as IIRC there is a note about use close to end Firefox instead of exit.

Anyways, no issues here with Firefox. Just a slow computer in general (Vista with 512 MB of RAM, tis slow, but will upgrade eventually).
