how old is this AC? might need recharging of the refrigerant, otherwise there could be something else physically wrong with it.
some AC's you just need to turn on and only have a couple of settings, some have a ton of settings you have to play with to set the temps and all that.
you also need to clean them out at least once a year, like PC's they do get clogged, but with dirt, bugs, etc etc.
