You know what? Mem timings hardly make any difference to performance. 100Mhz on your CPU is going to more than make up for your looser memory timings. Doesnt your board allow you to set your memory at a lower speed? You can set it to 667Mhz, for example, and that will give you more space to OC your CPU. If not your going to have to increase the voltages on the ram. If not its really your board thats holding you back.
as for the differences between P31 and P35, its basically more lanes on the PCIe bus (to crossfire) and slightly better OC abilities. Its not much.
Actally, forget that P31 board. Just get this. Newegg.com - Open Box: GIGABYTE GA-EP43-UD3L LGA 775 Intel P43 ATX Intel Motherboard
Its going to be an awesome OC board. Itl beat the crap outta that P31 board.
Its basically this Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-EP43-UD3L LGA 775 Intel P43 ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards
Just that its an open box version (which as the name suggests, has been opened before) but returned and saves you quite a bit of money
