This ABS thing is really starting to irritate me. I've got NO ABS light coming on, except during self test, yet every time you come to a complete stop, it engages the system. I have to pull the fuse to get normal braking when coming to a complete stop.
I checked the front and rear ABS sensors and replaced the left front as it was coming in 100 ohms higher than the right front to no avail.
strangely though, I remember the ABS not kicking in to a complete stop if I had the tires turned in one direction (I don't remember which off hand ).
Seems to me that the ABS computer is screwed up some how? I don't know. I don't have an ABS scanner to read the sensors...the only thing I could do would be to spin the tires in the air with a multimeter on the harness...not happening ( AWD ) by me anyway.
Any thoughts? Maybe I'm overlooking something here. I'm a little more concerned because the wife complained about a short lapse of braking last night. She had depressed the petal to stop, but wasn't getting any action out of the brakes....she pushed the pedal again and the brakes worked fine...no problems since.
This isn't something I want to fiddle with for too long.
