Hi ToniR09, and WELCOME TO TECHIMO - from the Folding@Home Team (#111)..!

Without any further information - or seeing the machine in front of us - it is going to be pretty much down to us guessing at possibilities...

Having said that, it does sound similar to an issue I was having with one of my (now paperweight-esque) laptops. I noticed that the laptop didn't last very long on, even though it was plugged into the mains. I did some checks, and noticed that the 'charging' light/LED wasn't lighting up for very long - if at all.

This turned out to be a loose connection with the [on-board] power connector. As the cost of a replacement part (without fitting) was around £120, and I was able to position the charger-cable-thing so as to power it, I didn't bother doing anything other than getting it to keep in a (semi-)working condition until the connector actually broke loose. I then did the sensible thing, which was to go and get another laptop.

I would see whether the 'charging' light is on, or flickering/blinking, and also try slowly moving the cable/connector to see whether that helps or not.

If your machine is still within warrantee, then you should be able to get in touch with the manufacturer to get it repaired/replaced - otherwise you're prolly best off getting another machine, especially with the cost/performance of a new machine being a better longer-term investment....

Let us know how you get on, and with some additional info we can be of better assistance..!

@Joker,

As the OP is using a laptop, there aren't too many things you can swap over - or replace - especially the CPU and MoBo...
