In XP, you need to set System Properties to give the relevant CLASSPATH variable as referencing the Java path.

1. Log in (or secondary login) as an administrator.
2. Control Panel
3. System
4. Advanced
5. Environment Variables
6. in System Variables, hit New to add an environment variable, or Edit to edit an existing one (e.g. to add the Java path to the Path environment variable).
