How about trying one of those instructional videos or DVDs?

www.homespuntapes.com has a bunch of them. You could all sit around the TV or computer and "listen" to the teacher. Music is a great way to spend time with the kids. I have a few tapes on piano and keyboard techniques from them and they are actually done quite well.
