Try plugging the headphones or another set of speakers into the same port you had the Klipsch speakers plugged into. If they work, then you DEFINATELY have a speaker problem. If not, then maybe that particular port is bad. Not that I don't think that it's anything but the speakers, but you may want to try that before packing things up, so you don't end up RMA'ing the wrong item.
