I agree, drivers-only installs are the best for things like mice and keyboards. Unless you really want to have access to all the stuff they threw in with your mouse to make it more expensive, don't install it. Just plug it in, and then point Windows to the driver folder appropriate to your OS on the included CD. Once that's done, it would be best to get the latest version off the manufacturers website, but you already knew that.
