Yes, i built it myself. It was fine with my old soyo mobo but now it just beeps. I have also considered the fact that it could be a cpu overheated.. actually i've concluded that this is the problem. When i boot and go straight to bios the cpu is at 68-70 celcius. btw i have the cpu overheation alarm set in the bios. so when the xp cd loads i guess the cpu is used more and thus the temp. increases. So i get some beeps and then the thing turns off.

The thing i dont understand is why did the heatsink provide ample cooling on my old mobo and not with the new mobo.

I REALLY hope that the issue is simply cpu overheating because returning a mobo to an online dealer is a pain in the arse!!

Also forgot to add that my heatsink was really cheap.. and not intel certified... its an EVERCOOL.. I am considering buying a new intel certified one.. will this solve my problem?
