I agree with DPA as well. The beeping makes it pretty positive it's overheating somewhere in your comp.
On newer systems CPU's get hotter than the older models, due to the newer heatsinks and fans can cool them better. (Chain effect) Better Heatsinks and fans=hotter cpu's. Hotter CPU's that can be cooled to operating levels=Faster speeds. (I think that makes sense  )
I would suggest the new heatsink, and would figure your problem will be solved as soon as it is installed.
