All of us hardware guys should know better than to use most psu's that come with generic cases if it is for current intel or amd systems.
For the novice, they should be doing their legwork before purchasing enthusiast hardware.
Every fourm I go to, power supply is a constant and growing issue, was just at a forum where the question was
"can I use my 235 watt psu, with my xxxxx nforce2 board, multiple drives, xp3200, I gb ram, and ati 9800 vid card?
What can you say
