ok I got to the command line did the release and it released the ip address which left me with no IP then I did the renew and I got back the same IP I had. then I tryed the ping<IP of MAC box>
and it gave me the mesage the syntax of the command is incorrect
I did find out what my connection-specific DNS Suffix is thow
what ever that is
