Well, I think it can be safely said that lots of things will be different, yet will stay the same.
We'll still have the Internet...although instead of using unweildy computers, people will have a small operation...you'll have tiny RCA jacks implanted behind your ears that will connect to a set of patch cables to your cell phone (which will be embedded in your wrist watch...which
won't even BE a wrist watch anymore...) and people can be 24/7 'Net heads.
You'll know 'em by the
glassy stares...
That goes for the Gamers, too. Only they'll twitch and go
Grrrr-rrr-RRR-rrrr frequently.
You won't drive cars anymore, as road engineers will have laid a line of copper bunch line into every road, which will transmit to your car and to the Dept. of Motor Vehicles, which will be selling "Driving Subscriptions". The electronic stream of data will enable your car to be programmed with its destination, and you just sit inside, playing Duke Nukem XXXI...in your head!
Of course, the term
System Crash will have an entirely different meaning...

and the photo of
Surreal's Ford Contour flying above the desert highway will become an icon of the old, bad, (cool) days.
And
Shahani and
Epidemic will still never have agreed on anything...but they'll get along very nicely all the same, as neither one will remember what they were talking about anyway.
