As for your problem, does your computer have any software like "Gateway GoBack" on it? That is a utility that lets you revert your system to a state in which it worked properly in the past.

Did you use the cleaner disk in both drives? It sounds like the DVD drive had a pre-existing problem that may have been made worse by the cleaner disk. I have heard these discs can be bad news for drives. Did you also use the cleaner disk in the Iomega drive at the same point in time? |
