When MOH:AA came out I was blown away by some of the cool pre-scripted events and the prospect of realism. Then became incredibly underwhelmed when I realized it was another one man army type of game. I did enjoy it and the Spearhead expansion tho. Then came the Breakthrough expansion and the "kill 9 tanks with mortars" mission, I realized that EA was trying to get blood from a stone with the MOH:AA series.
Call of Duty was like a breath of fresh air compared to MOH:AA (especially the Breakthrough expansion). Gone was the experiance of the invincible one man army. Your NPC colleagues actually were usefull unlike the pos soldiers in MOH:AA and the game actually feels like you're a part of a much larger conflict (you know, that WW2 thing the kids have been talking about). CoD's pre-scripted events are really, really well done and the shell-shock view is just plain cool. The game was created by some of the ppl behind MOH:AA and it shows that they decided to improve on AA's shortcomings instead of just releasing the same ol' thing.
Yea, so in my opinion CoD is a far superior game over MOH:AA. MOH:AA was very good when it came out and broke some new ground with war themed games but it's no match for CoD.
