Help No CD Win 95

I just put together a 486 DX2 for my nephew, and all went well, but upon reboot, and finalizing settings, the CD-Rom can't be found. Booting in safe mode shows it, but regular boot doesn't. It's an AST from walmart about 5-6 years ago, and all parts are stock except the HDD. But all from different machines. (I had 2 Of them), anyway. HELP!!

486 DX2
16MB Simm Ram
onboard Video/sound
14.4 modem
Torsian 4x CD-ROM
Win 95 b
The lights come on when the try is opened or closed, and it will work if booted from floppy, the driver is loaded then I guess.

Now I am reinstalling winderz again, the first time I used a 48x I had here, and then installed the 4x, maybe that is where I lost it.

Any Ideas?
