Office XP or 2003?
I have the opertunity of purchaseing a full version of Office XP or 2003 through my school. They are both the same price (less then acidemic pricing). I have heard from some people that Office 2003 has some issues that Office XP doesn't have. I may be using the software on a tablet PC. I already use Open Office but I want MS office for compatibility and for use on a tablet. Any opinion on which one I should get? I use Office 2003 at home and at work, and I have no problems at all. I wouldn't consider myself a Power or frequent user of Office though. I haven't seen much difference between the two except a few new features and looks that I don't use.

The 2003 version has two fewer years before obsolescence, so that would be my first choice. I use XP at work and 2003 at home and cannot really tell the difference.
You'll find use of a spell checker "academic".

Looks like I will be going with Office 2003. Thanks for all the help. Now can anyone tell me if the 2003 licence agreement allows you to install a copy on a desktop and a laptop?Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue. -- Scott Adams
