Help please with Ubuntu 15.10 disk space issue

I've been trying to run the software updater but I keep getting the following (paraphrased) error message:
"There is not enough disk space on "/boot". Free up at lease 32.5 MB (download size is 67.1 MB) on this disk, Empty trash (done) and remove temp packages of former installs using "sudo apt-get clean" (done although I get no confirmation that the task completed)."
After following those instructions I still get the same error. This makes no sense because according to the Disk utility my Block device of 496 GB reports that there is 482 GB free. If there is a way to export a log to upload please advise or I can provide the partition details if needed. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I had the same issue a few weeks ago. My solution was to delete unneeded kernels. I had ~8 installed at the time. I kept 4, but it gave me more than enough space.

After reading many suggested solutions the one that worked for me was running 'apt-get remove'.
