How to remove a second OS

In have two operating systems on to separate drives. Win 10 on drive C and win 8.1 on D. At present I`m given a choice when booting as to which OS to use. I don`t want to format drive D being I have a lot of files on there(can`t move them to C as it`s too small). What`s the safest way to remove 8.1 from drive D. Thank you.

Why not just remove HDD D: from the list of bootable devices in the BIOS setup?

Thanks for the reply, but I will no longer use it because of a bunch of problems I have with it. I would rather just get rid of it.

Look for the free app called EasyBCD.... It will help you to break the dual boot menu option and then you can format or do what ever you want to the second drive.
