You need to get the Bittorrent client. It's available from http://bitconjurer.org/BitTorrent/
The .torrent is not the actual file itself. It just tells the program where to download from (very simply put) |

The shareaza program downloads torrents, but doesn't work well anbd is a memory hog. The best torrent program IMO is the ABC torrent program: http://pingpong-abc.sourceforge.net/
but the official BitTorrent program works fine: http://bitconjurer.org/BitTorrent/
Torrents are a new form of P2P networking. The torrent file is the 'hash' of what you need. You download from other people with the same file (who are 'seeding' it at that point). One rule of etiquite to remember...share BitTorrent files after downloading them. Keep the torrent program open for a while after downlaoding. |
