    How to get rid of sencond OS?

     
    Hello-

    I need to get rid of a second operating system I have on my second HDD. I was wondering do i just delete the windows file on the second HDD to get rid of the second OS. See when i boot up i have to pick one and that is bugging me. Please help me Thanks.
    AMD 64 3200+, 200gb HD , 500gb Ext HD, K8N Pro motherboard, 1gig ram and much more!

    You'll need to edit your boot.ini file and delete the line referencing the second OS.

    Then you should safely be able to delete thte 2nd. OS.

    My main one is Windows Xp Pro

    and my second one is Windows XP 64bit.

    I just dont use the 64bit one becouse there are not a lot of drivers out yet.

    you dont have to delete the second OS, perhaps you'd like to come back to it later. Just go to the run command and type C:\boot.ini
    From there, you can either delete the second entry, or you may be able to put a ; before the xp 64bit option to disable it. Another option would be to set the timeout to 0 (if that will work) or 1.

    bill, whoa, that's some icon! I didn't know techimo had new life breathed into its icons!

    and this thread has helped me too, lol. not crapping here.

    I tried to dualboot winxp and win2k pro, but then I remembered what cr@p winxp is...can't wait to delete it!
