Frontpage is just a web-authoring software and -- although it contains a version of Personal Webserver -- it isn't meant to be used as a server. I've used every version since FrontPage98. The web security settings within FrontPage are crude at best, even FrontPage 2003. Normally you would resort to the security settings available via whatever OS and/or server (i.e. W2K Server and MS IIS) you are going to run your website on.

I'm not sure what you are asking... how do you do what?

I mean, use the security settings from your os instead of frontpage's

On what operating system is your website going to be hosted? There are literally a handful of ways to do it just within W2K Server/IIS 5.0, for example.

For example, if you run MS IIS5.0 on a W2K Server, you can set permissions for the IUSR_(ComputerName) account within Control Panel... Adminstrative Tools... Computer Management... Services and Applications... IIS... Websites... Default Website... Properties... and so on. You can also set Share and User permissions for specific folder and files within Explorer.

Can you describe exactly what you are trying to do? There are probably some basic reference materials available that can cover (in sufficient detail) all aspects depending on what you are trying to achieve.
