    Admin password help

I had to reinstall Win 2000 on my box a few weeks ago, and I can't remember how I set it up before. I want to turn the computer on, and have it boot up right thru the admin password without having to use a pass word or enter thru. I used to have so the password screen would flash on, grayed out and keep booting, without me being there.
I am looking thru MS help, but so far no luck.
I am the admin, but nobody else uses this computer, and it is not on a network.
    I'm sure its simple. Anybody?

U have to setup auto-login for a user.
This can easily be done with Tweak XP from microsoft.
I think u can also do it from the control panel but its rather buried (cant remember the specific spot myself)

Found this if it helps :-
Do you need to start windows automatically? Are you fed up that each time you log on you have to wait for the login and then you need to enter your user name and password? Just make the following Registry changes, and your computer will log on automatically:

    Hive: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    Key: SOFTWARE\Microsoft \Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
    Name: AutoAdminLogon
    Data Type: REG_SZ
    Value: 1

    Hive: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    Key: SOFTWARE\Microsoft \Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
    Name: DefaultDomainName
    Data Type: REG_SZ
    Value: <Domain Name>

    Hive: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    Key: SOFTWARE\Microsoft \Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
    Name: DefaultUserName
    Data Type: REG_SZ
    Value: <Name of a valid user>

    Hive: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    Key: SOFTWARE\Microsoft \Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
    Name: DefaultPassword
    Data Type: REG_SZ
Value: <Password for the user above>

As always, use caution and frequent backups when editing the Registry. Also please note that the username and password above will be stored in the Registry using clear text, and anyone who has access to the Registry of that computer will be able to obtain them easily.

    Good luck

    Steve.

( Got to be an easier way tho )
