recover corrupt files
I recently reinstalled my computers operating system. I copied the files I needed to another computer, and formatted the drive I installed the new OS on. I copied the files back to the other computer, and everything went great until I restarted the computer. The scandisk utility made enormous changes to the harddrive, fixing errors on most of my old files... Now only some of the files are working, while the rest is not. Mostly word-documents corrupted, but also mp3 and pictures. I need a tool that can help me fix this problem. Any ideas?

EDIT
Or if I can use some kind of recovery tool on my other harddrive... The one I copied the old files to in the first place...Last edited by bigfeta; June 14th, 2004 at 07:36 PM.

maby you copied some system files that would have corruped the new install. try just copying the .mp3 and .jpeg files. you will probably have to reinstall the os.

Ugh. That's poor news indeed. I wonder if I missed any OVAs or anything.
