Question
Microsoft Office 2000 transfer ?

My Dell desktop has an upgrade version of Microsoft Office 2000 installed. I am ordering a new laptop and need word, publisher, and powerpoint. My Office 2000 does not include Publisher. Do I need to include Office 2003 @$250 with my new laptop or is there a way to transfer and use my current Office 2000 and purchase Publisher 2003 separately. If so, will Publisher 2003 work with Office 2000.

thanks for any help,

puterdude

Since you have an upgrade version of Office 2000, you would need the full Office 2000 program in order to install it on your laptop, not the upgrade version.

You're best bet is to "include Office 2003 @ $250" with your new laptop, that way you have the "original" version (I take it, it will be pre-installed on your new lappy? do they also give you the "full version" on disk?)

Don't know if they include disk. It is an HP 7000 so maybe someone else can give us an answer. Purchasing thru Costco. Do not know if original microsoft office was thru Dell or something I purchased after receiving the desktop from Dell. If I could locate the original disks, would it make sense to load onto new laptop and then upgrade with my Office 2000 disks?
