| 100% Cpu usage 100% of the time
A couple of weeks ago I through disk cleanup into my startup folder. I wanted to clean up every boot. For the last two days I've had cleanmgr.exe using 100% of CPU all of the time until I "end process" in Task Manager.
What's going on.. My system is useless.. It's slow as anything everything sits frozen yet every app. is "running". I've red a few threads about XP home/pro running slow for no apparent reason.. Half the time I can't even connect to the web, my system is soo busy.. |

Hmm, let it sit over night and finish the cleaning job. Might be done in the mroning thus retruning your system to normal, not sure though :/ |

Remove the clean up program from the startup folder. End of problem.

Nice unclouded point of view... I like it.. But what started this immense usage and why? Will it occur next time I manually start disk cleanup? |

Well have you checked for spyware/adware? You just never know where that S%$T is hiding and what it will do. |

I had a nasty bit of spyware once that totally bogged down my system whenever I'd run certain windows administrative apps like degfrag, SFC, and regedit (win98)
I don't remeber the exact filename of the junk, but it wasnt easy to remove. Spyware is definately a possiblility whenever youre abnormally getting 100% cpu usage like that.
