Outlook Express email gone! HELP!

Ok, so I was moving some of my folders around and organizing them, when I opened OE and changed the "store folder" so it would know where I moved my "email foler" (where i had all my .dbx files) to. It said that the settings wouldn't take effect until I shutdown and restarted OE.

Well, when I did ALL my messages and folder were gone! I've restarted my computer..tried system restore, etc. and I can't figure this out! Why would OE delete my previous folders and settings and replace the original .dbx files with new (empty) ones!? There has to be a way to recover them! Someone please help me, as I have very valuable data that I need!

Hope this will help you out with your mail problem. When my hard drive crashed I was able to import my old mail to my new mail location. The location where Outlook Express keeps its mail information is: c:\documents and settings\Your logon ID\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\Unique Identifier Number. I hope this helps for you.
