most of the time its with the del key.
When you turn the computer look for x = Bios where x is the keyboard key to activate the function.
then check under your devices, also verify your boot order chances are that hd is not in the boot order so I wont use it to boot.
People usually use CD-ROM or, IDE-0

how is the drive set up on the cable? is it by itself on the cable?
if it is by itself then it should be set to "master" on the jumper...(unless it is Western Dig drive then it should be set to "single" I think)
check the jumper.
also..if you leave the bios set for "auto" and ther eis no drive there..then it make sit take all day cuz it tries to detect a non existent drive.....for instance if you have the main hard drive on the cable by itself...then in th ebios the Primary master should be set to 'auto" but the Primary Slave should be set to "none"....if u set the primary slave to 'auto" also it may make it boot really slow and/or give you an error since you have no drive there.....same for the Secondary controller etc"Even a fool is thought to be wise if he is silent"
