Windows 2000 Pro won't start-..\CONFIG\System corrupt or missing
I have a machine that has been running Win2KP for several years with no problems.
Suddenly when I try to turn on the computer I get an error saying:
"Windows 2000 could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
\WINNT\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\System Startup options for Windows 2000, press F8".
There did not appear to be any problems leading up to this condition.
I have gone through the repair process it suggests with no luck, I do not have ERD's.
Is there any way to repair this problem without having to reinstall the operating system?
