SP2 problem

Since I installed SP2 for Win XP I can't see any pictures on any web sites I visit. For instance if I go to Costco.com all their merchandise is shown in pictures. Now all I have is a box with a small square with a red x in it. What do I have to change to get the pictures back? Its probably something stupid that I don't know. Please enlighten me.

if you're using internet explorer, then try going to the "advanced" tab under "internet options" (which us under "tools"). go down to multimedia and see if anything needs to be changed.

the instructions are for win2000, but i think they are similar in XP, too.

Yeah, Hulk is right, there is a box under multimedia that says "show pictures" make sure that is checked.

Thanks for your help. However, that wasn't it. Show pictures was checked. All the options under multimedia were checked. Any more ideas?

Somebody had the answer. I read it and tried it and it worked. Same place as above "uncheck automatic image resizing." Somehow the reply disappeared. It worked and thanks to whoever posted it.

I think the option to view pictures, etc., is in the security center. I had the same problem, I'm just having an over 40 moment :-)

I've had fairly good luck with the SP2 install (so far.) I have noticed some funky things with the way IE caches large image files, but I was having that problem prior to installing SP2.

Save yourself a lot of headaches and give Firefox a try. I've been using it for a few days now, and haven't had a single problem.
