    ms word question

ms word 2002. when i open my old word documents that i have saved, or start a new one, the spacing between characters is very big. what could have caused this to happen? it was fine before but now i dont know how to get it back to normal? if i go into format>fonts>character spacing, it is set as normal. are there any other settings i can check? i dont think i changed anything, and if i did i dont think it would cause all my saved word documents to now have this large spacing also??

Is the "JUSTIFY" set to "FULL" ? (Format, Paragraph, Alignment) If so, set it to LEFT.

Something else to try: Close Word, rename normal.dot to normal.old, reopen Word. If that fixes it, then normal.dot was corrupt. If you had macros in the old normal.dot, now you can transfer them to the new normal.dot (that Word created when you reopened it) by using the Organizer.
