spyware protection

Hello guys!
Just a few question regarding spyware.
Our computer in office are affected by spyware and as days go by many viruses,worms are now present. We used Ad ware in scanning this such kind of problem (downloaded version of lavasoft.se). Then right now we can not access some internet site like yahoo because suddenly if we enter yahoo spyware will popups. What are the things we must do? Or maybe we just let our MIS fixed this problem. But I just want to learn to solve this problem in case I encounter it at home.
By the way we used win2k at the office.

mayb u could install service pack 2, it would block all the bs

Also, you may want to try Mozilla Firefox, or some other browser other than IE.

I would have to disagree.

Service Pack 2 gets rid of some of Xp's annoying things and gives a pop-up blocker to IE and whatever, but it definately does not eliminate spyware.

Spybot Search and Destroy
CWShredder

Those are probably the best combination to get rid of all Spyware/adware.
