windows explorer shut down

Hey guys, Just a quick one, I'll expand later if I need to after work.

I can't access my documents or windows explorer. All I get is a pause, and then it says that it's encountered a problem and has to be shut down. I've done some googling and searching on my own, but can't seem to get anywhere with this.

partly or wholey caused by a trio of virus' ( downloaders )

I'd try an alternative browser like Netscape, and then find a free anti-virus/trojan/worm removal program, and try that first.

See if that gets you up and running.

WinXP. Sometimes I can't connect to the internet at all until after a reboot. I've run AVS and spybot, and adaware SE, plus trendmicro online virus scan.

Install anything recently? System restore might be a good bet too. This ONLY happens when you try to access the My Documents folder and when you click on Windows Explorer?

Virus may have caused damage to your explorer I guess.
