| Firefox crash - Netscape Popup?
I just got this thing, it has happened before, and I was wondering why it happens or what it really is. They say it is something called Netscape Agent or soemthing, I took a screen shot, it had just happened while I was browsing these forums.

You may have a conflict with another application while running FireFox, but you can still correct it.
- Uninstall FireFox and reboot your system
- Install FireFox and do Custom installation (you should NEVER EVER do any installation other than Custom on ANY piece of software, but this is my opinion).
- When the software installs, it will ask you about two FireFox features. One is already marked. Make sure BOTH are UNMARKED. This way, the chance of extra process working in the background on your machine, will crapped out and stop FireFox.
- After unchecking the two options, allow the installation to complete.
- You should not get the error message again.

Ya, that stupid feedback agent seems to lockup firefox on occasion.
Unfortunately you have to do a "custom" install and uncheck that feature when you install firefox to get rid of it. Personally, I'd uininstall firefox and reinstall it without this annoying thing. |

TechKnickle,
Just to let you know though, that is supposed to be a tool to help report crashes to Netscape so they can see why the browser crashed, and create a fix if need be. However if the Bug Reporting Tool is causing bugs ... well thats a vicious cycle ....

Let's assume FireFox REALLY sends out problems it found in a crashed system... What else does it send out?
I will not allow anything - as long as I can control it either during the installation process or with a third party software - to out of my system.
It is very nice that FireFox is free, and without a doubt, it is the best browser out there right now.... still, privacy is number one.
All the best.

Undeadlord | Ok, now I know. It had happened once before, and one time it happened when my computer started up without even touching Firefox. Thanks for the info. |
