Windows Locks up at Windows Screen

Hi,

I've a problem with my computer. When it starts,XP SP1, it hangs on de the windows screen. I've installed XP SP1 about 3 times, but this does not help. I've have also formatted the harddisk. When i start in the safe mode i can log into windows, No problem. I've disabled, services,win.ini, system.ini, startup programms, but notings help. Con someone help me please...

Need more info:

Motherboard

and everything hooked up to it
ie : hard drive, graphics card, sound card, etc....


If windows has automatically installed your graphics drivers because you have an onboard VGA or a graphics card that Windows has drivers for then this could be your hangup. That is why Safe mode works for you because it doesn't load any graphics drivers...

Also if you have an onboard VGA plus a graphics card - disable the onboard VGA eithier in the Bios (recommended way) or in device manager (while in safe mode)

Try Starting your Computer in Enable VGA Mode and then try to Install the Video Drivers in VGA Mode.
Else if you have some diagnostics try running diags on HDD & RAM.

first of all i want to thank you all for your reply. I'm glad that there are people are kind enough to help other people, like me. Now back to the problem of the hangup of windows..
I've have noticed that when i put a cd in player and starts window, it starts OK. When there is no cd in the player, it hangs. How can i solve this problem. Thanks in advanced...
