Should I install Intel Application Accelerator

I have an ASUS P4PE motherboard using the latest intel chipset drivers. I was reading an article recently in a computer magazine that suggested as long as the motherboard supported it, IAA should be installed. It apparently provides quite a performance boost and can also fix system stability.

Well I checked the Intel website and sure enough the P4PE is a fully supported motherboard.

By this time i was more than slightly interested so I investigated further. I scoured the web and found that it certainly appears to improve system performance but in some cases it can actually cause system instability.

My system specs are

P4-3.06 533 FSB (not overclocked)
512mb PC-2700 DDR RAM
ASUS P4PE MOTHERBOARD with onboard sound and LAN
160 gig samsung ATA-133 hard drive
HIS Radeon 9500 Pro 128 mb AGP video card
Pioneer 106D dvd-r/rw
Liteon dvdrom
Realtek ethernet Card
Windows XP Pro SP1 OEM

At the moment my system seems very stable but with an ATA-133 hard drive i would have expected faster data transfer.

Does anyone have experience with IAA? Does it work as suggested? Are there any programs it doesn't work with? Is it worth installing?

any feedback would be appreciated.

cheers
