Win 2K install....Invalid sys disk
I'm trying to install Win 2K Pro on an older computer. PII 400 and an Abit BH6 board. 192 MB PC 100. I have used a Win 98 start up disk and formatted C: HDD checks out good. Maxtor 4GB ATA 66 7200 RPM. I have BIOS set to boot from CD first. When it checks the CD I get an Invalid sys disk. Replace the disk and press any key. Iv'e tried two different CDs, not copies, but the real thing. Anybody out there can tell me what I've done wrong. Iv'e installed this way on 5 other computers with no problems.

Az
Thanks for the help. What you suggested does not work either. Are you possibly thinking of Win 2K Server? Instead of Win 2K Pro?

Ah, OK, somebody came along and pulled my head out of the rectal oriface. Set of four boot disks can be made with a computer already running Win 2K Pro.

Still don't understand why the CD wouldn't self boot. Any way its up and running now.Last edited by msterzer; February 10th, 2002 at 07:48 PM.

Okay, try this --
Boot up with W98 startup disk
Go to CD Drive
CD to I386
WINNT.EXE
That should start the install. If it doesn't, then --
Copy I386 folder from your CD to C:\
CD I386
WINNT.EXE
If that doesn't work, let me know.

Did they? That's one of the questions I would like answered. I don't know. I would think that if I were talking to a suspect who was being investigated for a triple homicide where the victims all...
The FBI has killed another person...
