Can't install recovery console in XP Pro

When I put the XP CD in and try to run e:\i386\winnt32.exe /cmdcons, I get an error message that says my version of Windows is newer than the Cd version and can't install. I'm speculating it's because I've installed SP2, but I'm not sure that's what it is. Any ideas?

    Thanks, Dave

you can still RUN it from the cd...but evidently you cant INSTALL it after going to sp2

    ---

    From MS website

Recovery Console must be installed before you install SP2. If you have already installed SP2, you cannot install Recovery Console on your computer, but you can use the following procedure to run Recovery Console from the Windows XP product CD.

To start the computer and run Recovery Console from the Windows XP product CD

    1. Insert the product CD, and restart the computer. If prompted, select any options required to boot from the CD.

    2. When the text-based part of Setup begins, follow the prompts; to select the Repair or Recover option, press R.

    3. If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot system, select the installation that you want to access from Recovery Console.

    4. When prompted, type the Administrator password.

Thanks for the response. I'm going to try and create a CD with SP2 slipstreamed into it and install from that. I'll let you know if it works.
