Multiple OS selection during boot.
I formatted a friend's HP Pavilion ze4125 laptop which was running XP Home. Then I installed XP Pro, but when I boot, there's a screen to select an OS. My choices are either XP Home or XP Pro.
Is there a file I can edit to remove this option and avoid the screen?
Why would the option be there in the first place? Doesn't everything get wiped by a format?

i think formatting does not format the MBR, (master boot record) on a hdd.
since bootloaders reside in the mbr (i think.......again) they may get left behind after a format.
